This was the highest figure since 2009/2010 when there were 2,914 officers. Overall, the notifiable crime figures dropped from 53,885 to 50,840, a 5.7% reduction.

In response, Operation Magnum was launched on London Underground in January 2013 and nationally in June of that year. Last year, Operation Magnum successfully reduced theft of passenger property nationally by 2,939 offences in comparison to the previous year, making a significant contribution to overall crime reduction on the rail network.
