James Dean, technology correspondent, reports that hackers managed to penetrate the UK rail network with four 'major cyberattacks' in the past year.
The hacks were discovered by security company Darktrace, which guards parts of the rail network, and is believed to be the work of foreign governments.
Experts have raised concerns over the security of new digital systems such as ERTMS that are replacing analogue technology which is not vulnerable to internet-based attack.
