Rail deal puts Rolls-Royce back on the right tracks

Rolls’ German subsidiary MTU has signed a £30 million deal to produce 100 engines for China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation (CRRC). CRRC will use the engines when producing rolling stock for Argentinian freight company Cargas y Logisticas. Rolls has also agreed to produce 232 freight engines for Transnet in South Africa. According to Industrial Editor Robert Lea, Rolls has decreased in value over the last two years by £11 billion due to delayed aircraft orders and reduction in oil industry demand.
