Phone firms told: boost rail signals – Ministers have begun consulting on how they can end ‘dropped calls’ on the rail network. This could mean mobile phone operators are forced to ensure ever mile of track can receive a phone signal. Transport Focus revealed last year in its passenger satisfaction survey that communication availability is a high priority for passengers. WiFi on trains is one of the top ten priorities. – SB
