Minister mocked for speeding up trains
Indian rail minister Piyush Goyal has been mocked after speeding up footage of a new train.
He posted a video of the Vande Bharat Express - capable of travelling at 125mph and due to enter service between Delhi and Varanasi on February 15 - on his Facebook and Twitter accounts, which was then subsequently retweeted by other senior officials from the country’s ruling Bharatiya Janata Party and even broadcast by a national news outlet.
Website Altnews.in confirmed that the video had been doctored with the train’s speed doubled.
