Local Enterprise Partnerships and local authorities in the Midlands want planning of road and rail improvements to be accelerated, to be delivered in time for the delivery of Phase 1 of HS2 in 2016.
“From our initial work the benefits of agglomeration to existing business along are estimated to be in the region of £200 million per year,” according to Midlands Connect’s Picking up the Pace report.
