Make calls and send emails on the Tube

London Mayor Sadiq Khan and Transport for London are to invite bids from telecoms companies to supply uninterrupted coverage on the London Underground, writes The Times’ technology correspondent Mark Bridge.

Wifi is already available at more than 250 stations on the network, while phone coverage is already available on underground systems in other global cities including Barcelona, Tokyo and Seoul.
