An electro-diesel version of Stadler Rail's Flirt multiple unit has been ordered by the Valle D'Aosta region. Five sets each seating 178 are to be delivered in 2018 at a cost of €43m. They will have three passenger cars plus a diesel power module. There's provision to add a fourth car later.
