According to engineering consultancy Arcadis, Britain is now the ninth most popular place in the world for infrastructure investment. This rise of four places in four years is due to Crossrail 2, HS2 and the northern powerhouse. However, UK Infrastructure Director Chris Pike warns that the government need to outline a clear long-term plan for infrastructure, otherwise investors will look elsewhere. Singapore is the most popular place for foreign investment, followed by Qatar and United Arab Emirates.
