A Department for Transport survey, carried out to inform bidders for the next South Western franchise, reveals that ticketless travel is costing Stagecoach‘s South West Trains nearly £25 million a year.
Ticketless travel is highest after 1900, and on suburban routes from Waterloo to Kingston and Reading/Windsor.
