Eurostar speed record holder goes for scrap

Eurostar sent two of its regional sets, built to operate aborted ‘North of London’ services such as Paris-Manchester, for scrap in late June.

Withdrawn in December 2014, they included 3313/14 ENTENTE CORDIALE, which still holds the UK rail speed record of 207.97mph set near Boxley, Kent, on HS1 on July 30 2003.
