Charity, the Railway Children is urging the rail community to swap their warm beds to spend the night on a cold station floor, by supporting its Sleepout event on March 14, 2024.
Set to take place in 12 locations, including Glasgow Central, Manchester Piccadilly, Derby, Leeds, Swansea, Birmingham New Street, London Waterloo, London Liverpool Street, London St Pancras and London Bridge, proceeds from taking part will support the charity’s work with vulnerable children around the world.
Participants can register to join by choosing from one of its 12 venues, and raising a minimum sponsorship of £100.
Railway Children said: “Although the event doesn’t replicate the hardship faced by many children around the world, who are often deprived of shelter and safety at night, it does help to create awareness and raise crucial funds to support them.”
The charity seeks to build on the success of its event last year which raised £170,000 for vulnerable children in the UK, Tanzania and India.
