Speed restrictions on a four-track section of South Western Railway’s Waterloo-Exeter line will be lifted on August 10, after a three-day points renewal programme is completed.
Weymouth and Portsmouth services will be diverted while Network Rail has full possession of the section between Byfleet & New Haw and Weybridge, with local trains replaced by buses. The line speed will be raised to 90mph.
