Hull Trains introduces temporary calling point as engineering work blocks regular route

Hull Trains' 802302 at Goole on January 5. HULL TRAINS/PAUL LEESON TAYLOR.

Hull Trains is serving Goole for nine days in January while engineering work blocks its regular route.

The open access operator is unable to serve Howden or Selby between January 4 and January 12.

As a result, trains are stopping at Goole then joining the East Coast Main Line at Doncaster.

Martijn Gilbert, Managing Director of Hull Trains, said: “We’re pleased to include Goole in our timetable this January, enabling more people to have access to our Hull Trains direct services during a period of infrastructure upgrades. Our team is committed to supporting our communities so we are looking forward to welcoming some first time customers onboard.”

A spokesman said Hull Trains wanted to stop at Goole during the engineering work near Selby, even if it was just for a limited period.

Hull Trains is still awaiting a decision from the Office of Rail and Road about its plans to run between Sheffield and London King’s Cross, which would be branded ‘Sheffield by Hull Trains’.
