This is only the fourth edition of the Fabrik National Rail Timetable (NRT), but it has proved to be indispensible owing to its clarity and reliability. We have gained train reporting numbers, station three-letter codes, the total elimination of wavy lines, and a vastly improved station index with excellent subdivisions when any station appears in more than four tables.
I have been able to complete this review for the issue of RAIL that is published just a week after the NRT commences. This is owing to the excellent co-operation I receive from Fabrik’s editor Brian Burkinshaw, who allows me access to files well in advance in batches, as he processes them.
