Trials involving a fast-charging battery-powered passenger train will continue, with Great Western Railway taking over assets and staff from Vivarail, which is to be wound up after entering administration last December (RAIL 977).
The arrangement secures the future of planned trials between West Ealing and Greenford in West London. GWR has employed nine former Vivarail staff to support the project.
GWR has bought the intellectual property, rolling stock and equipment relating to the fast-charge technology.
