A workforce of 4,200 people are now actively working on HS2 in the West Midlands, with this number expected to more than double before the end of the decade, Birmingham Ladywood MP Shabana Mahmood was told during an official visit to the Curzon Street construction site.
The visit, co-hosted by construction partner Balfour Beatty VINCI, provided a glimpse of the preparatory work taking place on construction of the approach viaducts to the new terminus in the city’s Eastside area.
