Three companies have been shortlisted to construct HS2’s new rolling stock maintenance and control centre at Washwood Heath, Birmingham.
The depot will occupy a 75-acre brownfield site. It will have 14 sidings for 54 new trains, and around 500 jobs will be created when it becomes fully operational.
The bidders are Vinci Construction (Taylor Woodrow) and Keltbray, VolkerFitzpatrick and VolkerRail, and Turkish company Gulermak Heavy Industries.
