Transport for London’s free TfL Go mobile app has been updated to provide real-time information on how busy London Underground stations are.
The initiative is designed to help passengers choose quieter times for their journeys, to build confidence as people return to public transport following the COVID-19 pandemic.
The app previously provided this type of information based purely on Oyster and contactless ticketing entry and exits at stations. Now the system includes depersonalised data from TfL’s WiFi network to factor in how busy platforms and interchange points are.
