Landmark for MTR and TfL Rail

MTR Crossrail marked its first full year of operating Transport for London services between Liverpool Street and Shenfield on May 31.

The company, which will operate Elizabeth Line services, claims significant improvements compared with when it took over the route, citing a 45% reduction in fleet cancellations and a 25% cut in Network Rail delay minutes.

Class 345 electric multiple units are due to be introduced on the Liverpool Street-Shenfield route from May 2017 and between Heathrow Airport and Paddington, with full through services on Crossrail starting in May 2019.

Not to mention the new Platform 6 at Shenfield which is under construction and is due to open at some time next year with TfL Rail/Elizabeth Line trains using both Platforms 5 & 6 as a terminus and AGA trains to Southend Victoria to use platform 4 freeing up platform 3 for trains passing through the station and trains to Colchester, Clacton, Ipswich & Braintree to use platform 3 as usual.
