BTP acts against trespassers

British Transport Police has taken action against eight people trespassing to see Flying Scotsman on its Edinburgh-Kirkcaldy-Edinburgh run on May 15.

Officers found four people trespassing between South Gyle and Dalmeny and four near Glenrothes, in anticipation of the evening run of Flying Scotsman. All have either been fined or reported to the procurator fiscal.

In a separate incident, officers interviewed and reported a 66-year-old man from Bowburn for trespass near Tursdale Junction (Durham) on May 10, when Flying Scotsman undertook a York-Newcastle round trip. The man was not arrested for the incident, and Network Rail says there was no performance impact from trespass that day.
