Rochdale works complete on time

The first phase of work to upgrade the route between Littleborough and Manchester Victoria was completed on time on May 10, following the installation of 1,200 metres of new track between the two stations.

Existing tracks between Rochdale and Manchester Victoria have also been remodelled, in preparation for bringing Rochdale’s new platform into use. The new bay platform will allow trains to turn back at Rochdale from Manchester Victoria, enabling higher service frequency on the route.

The platform is due to be commissioned in the summer.
