Rail consultancy Systra has acquired Edinburgh-based transport planning consultancy SIAS.
The company says the deal will broaden its transport planning team in Scotland and “strengthen the company’s resource base and technical expertise in transport modelling and micro-simulation”.
Systra Chief Executive Tim O’Neill said: “It’s a natural fit - Systra’s global footprint combined with SIAS’ niche expertise can only strengthen the wealth of services we provide.”
Systra has been acquiring businesses as part of its strategic plan to grow its presence in the UK by 2018. It took over JMP Consultants in December 2015.
