Sheaf Engineering’s 37402 Oor Wullie has returned to traffic, and has been placed on hire with Colas Rail to work Infrastructure Monitoring trains.
On December 30, it made a welcome return to its old haunts when it arrived at Glasgow Queen Street High Level station, top-and- tailing with Harry Needle Railroad Company’s 37607 on the 1056 Newcastle-Glasgow Queen Street.
This was just an hour after 37403 Isle of Mull had been in the station on a charter train - the first time two ‘large logo’ 37/4s have been in the station since 1989.
