Class 37 employed on Network Rail monitoring duties after return to traffic

Sheaf Engineering’s 37402 Oor Wullie has returned to traffic, and has been placed on hire with Colas Rail to work Infrastructure Monitoring trains.

On December 30, it made a welcome return to its old haunts when it arrived at Glasgow Queen Street High Level station, top-and- tailing with Harry Needle Railroad Company’s 37607 on the 1056 Newcastle-Glasgow Queen Street.

This was just an hour after 37403 Isle of Mull had been in the station on a charter train - the first time two ‘large logo’ 37/4s have been in the station since 1989.
