Southeastern Javelin unit remains in stranded six weeks after going through end of siding

The Class 395 Javelin unit that went through the end of a siding in late November is still awaiting removal.

The Southeastern electric multiple unit (395008) overshot the siding at the western end of Ramsgate maintenance depot on November 28.

Since then it has remained in place. A planned recovery on December 28-29 was postponed due to resource constraints, however no new date has been arranged.

A Southeastern spokesman told RAIL the priority is “to try to match the recovery to an existing line block in the area” to prevent further disruption.

While the unit remains out of action, three Southeastern services a day run as a single six-carriage train rather than two units making a 12-car formation.
