Special locomotive renumbering by LNER for RAIL milestone (video and gallery)

Rail 1000 Class 91

LNER has renumbered 91105, to 91000 as a tribute to the 1000th issue of RAIL magazine. The locomotive took its maiden outing in its new guise from Leeds to London King’s Cross for the 1003 return working on January 10.

RAIL’s sincere thanks go to LNER managing director, David Horne for agreeing to the renumbering of 91105, which has been kept securely under wraps at Neville Hill depot in Leeds for a few weeks until its outing on January 10, as RAIL's special 1000th magazine hit the newsstands.

RAIL is planning a special pictorial feature in issue 1001, featuring 91000 out and about on the East Coast Main Line. We’d love viewers and readers to contribute. Please send your photographs to us at [email protected]
