Direct Amsterdam-London Eurostar services resumed on February 10 after an eight-month suspension.
Capacity issues in the Dutch capital meant pre-boarding checks couldn’t be completed at its Centraal station, leading to passengers having to disembark at Brussels Midi before completing their journeys to St Pancras.
Remodelling work has now eradicated this issue and the reinstatement of three daily services, although the terminal in Amsterdam will temporarily close from March 30-April 22 while further renovations improve capacity further.
Once complete, Eurostar hopes to have five daily services running along the route by 2026, with trains carrying up to 650 passengers.
Gwendoline Cazenave, the operator’s CEO, said: “We know we will welcome more passengers on board as we continue to grow our services and set the standards for connectivity across Europe. The tripling of capacity on the Netherlands-UK route is step one in a broader strategy to increase Eurostar’s network for customers all across Europe.”
