A heritage future for ‘rescued’ ‘20’?

Harry Needle Railroad Company has recovered 20056 from the scrap line at the British Steel site at Scunthorpe.

The locomotive arrived there in 2007 along with 20066, to act as heavy-duty locomotives within the steelworks.

However, 20056 was last used over a decade ago and has fallen into a state of disrepair. It was moved by road to HNRC’s Worksop site on August 29 and is expected to be returned to running order (albeit not for the main line).

It is hoped it will join 20066 in being made available for heritage events.
