New London Overground line names remain under wraps

New signage on London Underground has been uncovered before the official launch of its renaming of its six routes after famous figures and events.

The £2.3 million identity change, which was due at the end of August but has been slightly delayed, has been seen on the Euston-Watford line, which will soon become the Lioness Line.

Before Transport for London covered the signs up again, Willesden Junction was confusingly shown as the changing point for the still unfamiliar Mildmay Line.

Launch day will feature a full-scale rollout of the new identities, when all the vinyl coverings will be removed on a single day instead of over a longer period.

Other routes to be named are the Windrush Line, Weaver Line, Suffragette Line and Liberty Line, each with their own colour.

Old signage is already being sold in the London Transport Museum shop at prices up to £1,000.
