Main line-bound Class 89 at Crewe

The sole Class 89, owned by the AC Locomotive Group (89001), was collected from the UK Rail Leasing site at Loughborough on August 15 and taken to Crewe DMD by 37521.

The 25kV AC locomotive is being returned to main line registration for use by Locomotive Services Limited. It will undergo final rectification work before embarking on its first main line test.

A prototype built by BREL Crewe to a Brush design in 1986, it last ran in 2002.
