Class 08s and ‘09’ on the move

Preserved 08888 has gone on hire at Wolverton Works, replacing 09009.

The ‘08’, which bears its original D4118 number, was collected from the Avon Valley Railway on August 10 and taken to Railway Support Services’ site at Wishaw, before moving to Buckinghamshire on August 15. The Class 09, owned by GB Railfreight, was duly taken to Wishaw for mechanical attention.

08472 and 08596 (both owned by Ed Murray & Sons) have been collected from the Progress Rail site at Longton, with the former moved to Chasewater Railway and the latter moving to Worksop.
