The second of the ten Class 93 tri-mode locomotives built by Stadler for Rail Operations Group (93002) arrived in the UK in late June. So far, the locomotive has only tested on diesel and battery modes between Worksop and Sheffield. The West Coast Main Line test will allow testing while operating off the 25kV AC overhead power lines. The arrival of 93002 will enable driver training and main line testing to be accelerated, which will then pave the way for 93003-010 to ship to the UK from Valencia (Spain). The second ROG Class 93 to land in the country from Spain is 93002. On the back of an Allelys low loader, 93002 pauses at Membury Services on the M4 on July 22, on its way from Portbury to Worksop.
