Rail Magazine is pleased to reveal this year’s nominees below for the National Rail Awards, jointly sponsored by Angel Trains and Siemens Mobility.

This year’s awards will take place at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on September 12 and will be hosted by TV presenter, broadcaster - and now soon-to-be Strictly Come Dancing contestant - Nick Knowles (pictured).

Although best known for his involvement in DIY and home makeover programmes, Nick has recently experienced the wonders of the world by train.

While hosting “Amazing Railway Adventures with Nick Knowles”, he went on a range of globe-trotting trips, from digging up ancient artefacts to swimming in the freezing Arctic Circle.

His experience as an established presenter and his amazing railway adventures over the last three years make him the perfect host for this year’s event.
