Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) is to appoint a Chief Operations Officer to help deliver a €5 billion (£4.2bn) programme of capital investment projects that aims to grow the current carrying capacity of the railway from 50 million to 80 million passengers by 2030.
Reporting to the CEO and interacting at Board level, the newly created role of COO is planned to oversee all aspects of the integrated rail system’s day-to-day operational delivery of train services and infrastructure.
