GB Railfreight ran its first train transporting waste from its new North London Railfreight Terminal in Cricklewood on September 8.
GBRf 66709 departed at 1215, taking spoil to FCC Environment’s Calvert Waste management facility in Buckinghamshire.
The new terminal handles soil waste from a variety of locations in London, including construction sites and development areas. Waste material arrives at the site by lorry, where it is deposited prior to being transported by rail.
